The Ins & Outs of Having a Breeding Kink

Everyone is turned on by something different, and some people really like pretending to make babies. Breeding kinks are having a moment over on TikTok, so what’s it all about?

What is a Breeding Kink?

A breeding kink is when a person is aroused by the thought of being impregnated or impregnating someone else. You might discover it through enjoying sex without a condom (barebacking) or from the implied risks, regardless of gender. For some, it’s just a fantasy, while for others, it’s very much real and incorporated into baby-making or a pregnancy fetish. Unsurprisingly, as it taps into our baser sexual instincts, there’s an overlap with primal play.

Is it common?

It’s certainly not rare! In an Insider interview, sex educator Gigi Engle claims that breeding kinks are growing in popularity because of sex ed. It’s also more common among women.

Gigi: “I think a lot of it comes from the way we were taught about sex, and this very danger-of-sex mindset, rather than pleasure.”

Lots of kinks and fetishes are born out of taboos. If something’s forbidden, it’s exciting to do it! Between the push for safe sex and heavy messaging about teenage pregnancy, having unprotected sex has become an exciting taboo.

So you’re constantly pregnant?

No! A breeding (or impregnation) kink is distinct from a pregnancy fetish, though obviously, they complement each other. Some people who have breeding kinks don’t actively want children; they simply enjoy the pretence. Gay men can even have breeding kinks, but more on that in a second.

There’s even a fantasy side of the kink that involves roleplaying being impregnated by an alien! However, it’s certainly not an excuse to go around tricking people into unprotected sex or getting someone pregnant without their consent; this is sexual assault.

Why are people into it?

There are multiple reasons and it’s not all to do with wanting kids. Broadly speaking, it comes down to risk, heightened intimacy, and the dominant/submissive elements.

Risk: For some, the risk of getting pregnant from unprotected sex is a turn-on in and of itself. Even if you’re using an alternative form of contraception – e.g. the pill, implant, or IUD – ‘playing’ at being unprotected feels exciting.

Taking safety precautions is essential if this route is your ‘in’. Regular STI checks are a must if involving multiple partners, and conversations about consent and limits should be had with any bed mate, long-term or otherwise. Also, if you’re capable of getting pregnant, it’s probably best to have a stock of pregnancy tests…

Intimacy: Imagine the scene; the mood is all bodice ripper-y, and the handsome hero stands over his love interest. The animal magnetism is just too much, and they can’t help but be so swept away that consequences are forgotten.

It’s erotically charged because you and your partner just ‘go with it’, and let’s be honest, everyone likes getting lost in the moment. Sex without barriers in every sense of the phrase.

Domination/submission: Meanwhile, some people will get off on being objectified and treated like broodmare, while others will enjoy the power that comes from being a stud. Gay or straight, the idea of surrendering your bodily autonomy and being ‘bred’ by a dominant partner can be hot. There’s the humiliation aspect of being ‘claimed’ or ‘marked’ by someone else. Also, if you’re a man who likes to be penetrated anally, there’s an element of feminisation. With the right dirty talk, you can imply that the bottom is so submissive they might as well be breedable.

Doing it Discovery Channel style

Lots of people stumble on this kink because it can be triggered as a natural reaction to sex. Evolution has had a long time to build in a reward response to sex and implied breeding, even if you don’t want kids.

So, now that you’ve agreed on contraception (unless you’re trying for a baby), how can you experiment with a breeding kink?

Dominate your mate

Apart from having sex without a condom and finishing inside, a breeder’s primary tools are dirty talk and proprietorial touches. Touching your partner’s belly reverently or territorially while murmuring in their ear how much you want to breed them. Saying, “Do you want me to make you a daddy/mummy?” followed by “I’m going to fill you with my cum” or begging for them to cum inside; that’s the kind of vibe you’re going for. Exerting your power over the receiver as a dominant, or submitting to animal instincts.

However, before muttering a single word, it’s best to check with your partner what language they’re okay with! One person who is OK with the risk side of a breeding kink may not necessarily be into the humiliation aspect.

Be your own daddy

Are you submissive and breedable but lack a mate? Grab an ejaculating dildo! Generally, these toys are either manual and require you to squeeze a bulb, a bit like an enema, or, like Sherriff Schlong, have a mechanised pumping attachment. Porn Sperm or water is then pumped up through the shaft, making it look and feel natural. If you prefer a little DIY, you can even make your own fake cum.

So, do you feel the need to breed? We know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but when isn’t it fun to have a little exploratory roleplay? As long as you’re safe, sane, and everyone consents, where’s the harm in going at it like proverbial rabbits?
