Definitely a cute idea for date night but probably best played if you’re breaking the ice and want to get freaky with a new person/group!
However, playing with your long term partner as I did, what it does do is switch up your usual dynamics and also force you to slow things down when you’re inclined to jump on each other fast. We found the game had a lot of instructions woven in to mindfully touch each other throughout the game.
Taking charge is incredibly exciting but can also be intimidating, so it’s enjoyable having absolutely no question of who is in charge or any threat to your authority if you win!
Even for people who are not shy to create their own scenarios it’s refreshing to have so many ready made and silly, whacky sexy fantasties to choose from.
I would say that while the game is fun - basically dominos with the occasional caress, bit of bondage and kissing, the cards are where it’s at.
There’s an escort fantasy, a vampire fantasy, the classic office fantasy, fantasies that take you to tool rooms, art studios and stable yards and have participants take on a great number of roles!
One of the cards however, I found to be very offensive, as the scenario is a rape fantasy assault on an “Indian” by a “cowboy”. I think that needs rethinking. Come on! It’s 2021, I think at best this is insensitive. At worst it fetishises racial genocide and pillaging.
I think we can all agree that everything is on the table when it comes to sexual fantasy, as long as everyone is happy, consenting, informed and safe. But this was quite niche for a board game made for everyone who’s into D/s, and could be triggering for some, at the very least jarring, and not in a good way.
While the nature of the game is all about power dynamics and control, I think this particular situation would be best left out.
It’s a shame that card was there as the others are so great! I did feel that it let the game down somewhat. I don’t expect perfect political correctness from a domination board game, but this one is just so obviously wrong.
