All around the world millions of people have an interest in bondage and desire to be either tied up and unable to escape or to tie someone up and keep them prisoner; rope bondage plays a huge part in the BDSM scene.
However, this style of bondage isn’t always as simple as tying someone’s hands behind their back; for some rope bondage is a very skillful practice and can even be considered an art form.
If you’d like to get serious about rope bondage then it can be pretty complicated and there are various considerations before you tie up your submissive, these include; type of rope (hemp, jute, linen, cotton, silk, bamboo, manila, sisal, nylon, paracord, MFP, synthetic hemp, polyester or generic polypropylene), construction (twisted/laid or braided), ends (whipped, knotted, fused, glued or taped), diameter (thin, average or thin) and length (short, medium or long).
… but if you’re a beginner then all you really need to worry about is whether you’d like your rope to be classic black, sultry red or hot pink!
So now that you’ve purchased some rope and you’re equipped to have some fun, here are a few ideas for exciting rope bondage play…
Beginners’ bondage
If you’re new to rope bondage then you should start with some basic knots and comfortable sex positions. Perhaps try some beginner positions such as ones in which the arm are restrained behind the back or perhaps even the very enticing hogtie position.
Japanese rope bondage
Japanese rope bondage (or Shibari) differs from Western style bondage in that its patterns echo elements of martial arts. Furthermore this style of bondage (often present in pornographic anime/manga) is one which is often used for submission and humiliation. A restrained sub may be undressed slowly by a very dominant Master/Mistress and made to feel shameful.

You can take the humiliation of Japanese rope bondage even further by incorporating something like panty wetting. Suspension bondage
Suspension bondage is certainly not for beginners as it requires a lot of heavy duty equipment. The initial ropes around the body must be positioned in such a way that, when suspended, the pressure of the suspension is evenly distributed across the body so that no pain or extreme pressure is felt on any one part of the body.

A style of rope bondage that I think is both cute and kinky is the rope dress! As the name suggests the Dom(me) is to create a dress on the body of the sub using rope. The rope will wrap around the waist and breasts and perhaps even create pleasurable pressure in the crotch. Safety reminder
