How to Use an Anal Douche
- Give your douche a thorough clean in warm water before use.
- Remove the nozzle and fill the bulb with warm water. If the water is too hot or too cold, you risk a rather unpleasant sensation! Never use soap or other cleaning liquids – plain, simple water is all you need.
- Carefully lubricate your anus and the nozzle.
- Slowly insert the nozzle. Make sure you’re either in the shower or sitting on the toilet. Not only will this help your cleaning session mess-free, the sitting angle of the loo may make it easier to insert the nozzle.
- Gently squeeze the bulb to release the water. Hold the bulb and do not release it until you’ve removed the nozzle. Otherwise, you risk drawing the ‘dirty’ water back into the bulb! You don’t need to empty the bulb with each turn; just squeeze in as much or as little as you find comfortable.
- Expel the water (this is why it’s important to be in the shower or on the loo!).
- Repeat the process until the water you release runs clear.
Tips
- Always make sure you wash your anal douche after each use. This can be with antibacterial soap or a sex toy cleaner and should be followed with a thorough rinse.
- Stop douching if you experience any discomfort or pain. Breathe slowly, try to relax and add more lubricant if you’re struggling to insert the nozzle.
- It’s best to douche around 30-45 minutes before engaging in anal play as your body has a chance to relax afterwards.
