The high street retailer polled nearly 25,000 participants to get an idea of how we in the UK are getting on sex-wise and surprise surprise, my personal favourite part is all about the Top 10 bedroom fantasies for men and women. So, in the interests of public service…or my own enjoyment…I thought I’d take you through some of the Top 10 Fantasies for men and women revealed by the survey.
Today’s episode? Threesomes.
Ranked by both men and women as their ultimate sexy fantasy, threesomes are an oft-discussed but infrequently acted-upon daydream for many of us. Whether you’re straight, gay, lesbian, bi or experimenting, threesomes can be a tricky topic- and that’s before you even get down to the sex part. If you’re already in a relationship, chances are ‘the discussion’ about having a three-way has already surfaced at some point. Probably down the pub or after a few glasses of wine. I’ll bet it was laughed off as a naughty joke too; though one of you was deadly serious and testing the water? Yep. Been there. What I’m wondering though is how many of us want to do more than fantasize? How many of us would actually jump at the chance to add someone new to your lovemaking mix?
I’m generalising (always bad) but I’m guessing quite a few of those who admitted that their fave fantasy was a threesome would actually be quite keen on having one in real life. Whether that ends up happening though is another matter entirely.
But for anyone interested, I thought I’d give some of my musings on how to go about turning fantasy into reality. A threesome checklist if you will.
Who? This should probably be your first question. If you’re in a relationship and your partner fancies the idea of someone joining you in the bedroom then you’re already halfway there. Of course you need to not only work out who, but also whether that person is going to be male or female. That might seem like an easy question for some but you’d be surprised. There are guys who would rather have another dude join him and his girlfriend in the sack, there are guys who want two girls, girls who want two guys, girls who want girls, guys who want guys….etc. It’s like a sexy lottery. One of those combinations will be a jackpot for you, some of them might be ok, some of them might be a total no no. If all three parties in a threesome aren’t having an awesome time then that’s awkward and not fun at all. So you’re going to have to do something hard; talk about it. You might come to the conclusion that threesome isn’t for you but that just talking about it is super hot. Hooray.
How? The second question is how. Not so much sexual mechanics but how do you actually get to the point of having a threesome. You’ll need to find an extra person (at least) that’s as turned on by the thought of a threesome with you and another person as you are. Do you have any existing friends that would be up for it? Be careful who you ask but you might be surprised how many of your mates would be up for a naughty night with you and your partner with no risk to your friendship. Or a stranger might be more your thing. There are tons of websites you can go to (do a google search) to ‘find threesomes’ near you. That way you know the person is into the idea of three-ways and there’s none of the awkwardness the morning after when you remember you have to see each other on a social basis.
